Both Reed and Windham in for Hangtown and 2011 AMA Lucas Oil Motocross Championship

Torrance, CA: With the start of the 2011 AMA Motocross Championship and AMA WMA Women’s Motocross Championship only days away, American Honda Racing is primed and ready to take on the opening round in the series, the Hangtown Motocross Classic, held in Sacramento, CA, this Saturday, May 21.
Veteran Honda racer Kevin Windham joins American Honda Racing’s Ashley Fiolek under the team’s big red tent at the Motocross opener. Windham will contest the 450 class aboard a Honda Racing-prepared CRF450R, while two-time Women’s champion Fiolek takes on the WMA class aboard her Honda CRF250R. American Honda Racing’s Trey Canard and Josh Grantare both recovering from injuries suffered during the Supercross series and are on track to make their returns to racing early in the Motocross season.
Honda newcomer Chad Reed and his newly formed TwoTwo Motorsports team enjoyed the support of American Honda during the Supercross season, and Reed vied for the championship, coming away with the runner-up spot. The factory Honda team and TwoTwo Motorsports worked well together, and that cooperative effort continues into the Motocross Championship as Reed aims for his second 450-class title.
“We’re really excited for the Motocross season to get underway,” said American Honda Racing Team Manager Erik Kehoe. “Both Kevin and Ashley are riding well, and we anticipate a strong showing from both riders in Sacramento. In addition to supporting the American Honda Racing riders at Hangtown, the team is also looking forward to supporting Chad and his TwoTwo Motorsports team throughout the season. American Honda is lending its full support to Chad as he contests his first Motocross season on a Honda.”
The Hangtown National will take place at Prairie City OHV Park in Rancho Cordova, CA. Gates open at 7 a.m. PDT and opening ceremonies begin at 12:40 p.m.

The 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series will be back for 17 rounds in 2012, including a return to the Superdome in New Orleans.

The season will again get started at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, on January 7 and will conclude on May 5 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The series last visited New Orleans in 2009 when Team San Manuel Yamaha's James Stewart won the main event en route to his second Supercross class championship.

"The 2012 Monster Energy Supercross schedule is the map to the coveted championship trophy," said Todd Jendro, senior director of two-wheel operations, Feld Motor Sports. "While 2011 is the greatest season ever, it is a primer for 2012. The returning veterans and the youthful challengers are the perfect blend for a parity-driven championship."

R.I.P. Danny "Magoo" Chandler: 1959-2010

American motocross legend Danny "Magoo" Chandler passed away last night at his home in Yuba City, California. Born in 1959, Chandler was a Northern California dirt-bike prodigy who erupted on the AMA circuit in the late seventies. Seemingly fearless, the wild-riding Chandler was known as much for his spectacular crashes as for his speed. He raced a variety of motorcycles -- Penton, Maico, Suzuki, Honda, KTM and more -- all over the world. His dominant rides for Team USA in the 1982 Motorcross and Trophee des Nations, where he swept all four motos over a two-week period in West Germany and Switzerland, marked the only time in the history of the sport that a single rider captured every moto win in the two races. Chandler eventually moved to Europe, where he added a 500cc Grand Prix win to his four AMA 500cc National wins. Tragically, Chandler crashed at a supercross race in Europe in the mid-eighties and broke his neck, ending his career and leaving him wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. Danny "Magoo" Chandler was 50 years old.

Genuine Honda factory works Mugen 125 MX GP race bike. Not a kit bike, like some on the internet! Two of these bikes were sent by the Honda factory to Holland in 1981. One was for Peter Groenezeld, and the other one was for Henk Stepenwoolde for only that year. The bikes then went back to Honda. For 1982, both 1981 bikes went to Henk, with a bike later used by Teo Eggens. Please search the internet for more history. Frame number ME03-2014666, and engine number JE01E-ME125RE - 3000208. This bike was considered the "A" bike during the GP race years. The "B" bike sold for 17,000 Euro a few years ago, and unfortunately required a more complete restoration, and is less original now. That other bike is still within our circle of friends and could also be available in a future eBay transaction, if there is interest after this eBay auction.

This bike is extremely original with the FIM control paint markings, original sponsor stickers, works forks and swing arm, and magnesium hubs. The original builder's initials "WR" Willen Renson are machined into the engine, as shown. Only the radiator shrouds are not original from the factory. The original shock could be rebuilt and is included, as shown in photos. Quality Euro item is now on the bike. Engine rebuilt by Honda expert Bill Clem in southern California. Minor flat spot on original front rim, but otherwise ready to race, with new chain and sprockets.

GLEN HELEN DROPS OUT OF AMA NATIONALS

Glen Helen Raceway regretfully announces that it will not host Round two of AMA 250/450 Nationals on May 29, 2010.

There has been long negotiations between MX Sports and Glen Helen Raceway in regards to the event. As a previous host of more than 14 AMA Nationals and three GP’s over the last 20 years, Glen Helen has proven to be a world class venue (and so do the fans who have flooded the gates in large numbers over the years).
From the beginning of the most recent contract negotiations, Glen Helen has asked for the same contractual terms as other tracks on the National circuit received in 2010. Due to the lack of equality in the terms, Glen Helen is unable to move forward with a National at this time.

The National Promoter’s Group (NPG) was formed 15 years ago to set the standard for motocross in America. As a charter member, Glen Helen has stood together with the other promoters for the entire 15-year period. We feel that our contributions to the promotion of the sport were integral to the progress that has been made in motocross.

Glen Helen supports all the teams, riders, sponsors and other National promoters 100 percent and we are sorry that the fans who planned to come to Glen Helen to see “Real Motocross” will not get the chance to do it this year.

Glen Helen will still be hosting events every weekend and will give fans, riders and sponsors a venue that they can be proud to be part of. We have a pre-National event on May 16, 2010 with the MTA World MX Championships, which will give fans a first look at the outdoor teams for 2010. A large Pro purse will be included. More details to follow.

Could this product make Motocross Safer?

I hope Dainese makes a version of this for Motocross, especially for Vets and weekend warriors, they aren't getting paid to ride and should be safe as possible. Great product from a great company.

Until the Dainese D-Air or Alpinestars airbag suit reach the market, we're guessing the Dainese Jacket Wave Pro (combined with a leather jacket or suit) is the safest you can practically and comfortably make your upper body on the road. Combining protection for the neck, chest and shoulder blades with the usual elbow/shoulder/back stuff is what makes this system special, but the aluminum honeycomb-core armor doesn't hurt either.

New Motocross TV Show - Bubba's World

Thanks Fuel TV for supporting the sports of motocross and supercross, my prior opinion of Fuel TV was primarily a skateboarding, snowboarding, sprinkled in with some surfing and motocross (really FMX) channel. While I appreciate these sports and have participated in a few of them as well, I am not a devoted fan like I am to the sports of MX and SX. So finally some new SX content and from what it looks like they are going in the direction of what fans want, a glimpse into the inside of the sport and a riders life. This glimpse is why things like twitter, mx forums, and Pulpmx are so popular, fans are hungry for info or a peek behind the scenes. This new show is about none other than JS7 "James Bubba Stewart". Stewart is one of the biggest stars of Supercross (and I say that specifically because he doesn't currently participate in Motocross) James is and will be an iconic athlete for the sport first for his incredible speed on the track, this type of speed sets the bar in the sport and leaves all the other riders scratching their heads trying to figure out how he does it, additionally he is the first african american to have championship level success in the sport. Importantly he has mainstream crossover potential, he is a natural with the crowd, the camera's, and the media, he has huge marketing potential (he is currently a Nike 6.0 athlete), straight up his smile sells, he is a real star. Former pro motocrosser Chris Ridgway is raising money for Limbs For Life, the foundation that supplied him with what he needed to win races after he had his leg removed. “I’m trying to sell $100 raffle tickets for a 1953 Porsche 356,” Chris told us. “Only 2,000 tickets will be sold in total, but as of now, we are not reaching that goal. The drawing is this Saturday. If we reach the 2,000-ticket limit, the Limbs For Life Foundation will literally put 93 people back on their feet with the prosthetics they need. It’s such a rad program and we really need help to spread the word. Time is running out for us!”

Vintage Bikes & Restorations

Seeing a few photos of vintage bikes and super clean restorations, got me searching around on ebay and like type "for sale sites", it's amazing what you can find. I am in the middle of restoring my 1995 CR 125 to replicate the factory bike of 1996. It's a fun project, you'd be surprised what exist for bikes parts wise and best of all you can throw your leg over it and ride at the end of the day. Ultimately that's what it's about, going out and riding you motorcycle. If you can't tell I am a Honda fan, here is my bike and a few others that inspire me.

It's a Hanny Situation!

Matthes vs. Hansen 2010! Steve does have some valid points read the articles and watch the video and you can definitely come to your own conclusions or opinions. Personally I would like to see Hansen successful because he is a character in the sport and he is a talented rider. But he does tend to set a bad precedent for himself and he really hasn't had the success on paper, excluding X-Games finishes. You would think he would be smart enough to tow the company line when promoting the sport, I am sure Mitch at Pro Circuit was pretty pissed. And the only thing I wish Hansen would have expressed was that the fighting happens in the pits not in the stand, it happens after the races are over, and it's not really fighting more like sucker punching someone and then hiding in the shadows of the haulers. Can this kid become the real deal or will he Brrraaaaapppp! his way into infamy.

The highlight of going to the IMS is to see the new year models, this year's hype was beyond "buzz" for Yamaha with the release of the new 2010 Yamaha YZF 450. When you hear sponsored rider James Stewart (JS7) to every magazine review, say words like best bike ever, revolutionary, state of art, unseen styling, the adjectives start to feel canned and like a PR barrage, seriously is this bike that good? I had to see for myself and I have to say with much enthusiasm it looks pretty amazing and I really haven't seen anything like it. Ultimately what sells it for me was being up close, being able to touch it, analyze it and sit on it. Yamaha also had a display bike with several key cutaways on the engine and various sections of the bike, to show off internally the revolutionary elements of the design. Kudos to them it made for a great display and further sold their product, heck I want one and I don't even really enjoy riding the 450's. Yamaha had both the color options available for viewing in white and the standard blue scheme, they also had an L&M Yamaha James Stewart replica.. hope they sell a version of this, it would be a cool branding concept.

You have to understand I am a motorcycle guy that slants toward motocross and supercross essentially because that is what I grew up with and have ridden most of my life. But I have an appreciation for road bikes and especially road racing. One can't ignore the fact that Yamaha sponsors probably the greatest road racer of all time #46 Valentino Rossi, and yes they had a display bike from his 2009 racing livery.. sweet. It's pretty cool to get up close and personal with pretty much the "F1" of motorcycle racing technology, MotoGP. These bikes are so high end and customized with the pinnacle of technology, but I have to say they come off interestingly understated as well. Race machines are so stripped down to the core essentials of what one would need to go fast, placed up against a street legal machine, the race bike comes off sleek and efficient and definitely not overly complicated. Yamaha built a Valentino Rossi replica for the 2010 Yamaha R1 streetbike and it comes off like a cool piece someone would want to own. You can also take it to the extreme and spend an add't approximate 7G's and add the entire GYTR catalog to your "Rossi" replica, they had one on display and it definitely had a cool factor to it.

Unfortunately had to pass on heading to Perris Raceway to support the Rossi Ride Day, tons of pro's, raffle prizes, & fun, all for a great cause (Ross Maeda's recovery). I wish I had scheduled my weekend better, instead we decide to take a little family outing to Long Beach to the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show. This event is like going to the ultimate dealership that carries most of the brands motorcycles and gear and they are showing off all the new stuff, while encouraging to sit, touch, and take in every detail of the new equipment. It is a great event from that standpoint, the only downside is that they didn't have a more offroad specific section and of the major manufactures KTM was missing. Also I would have liked to have seen Husqvarna, Sherco, Husaberg, Aprilia, & Gas Gas some of the more European targeted products are pretty interesting and would have been fun to see. I think this would have given a broader perspective on the options motorcycling has to offer.

James Marshall's Story

I was actually at San Diego when he crashed right in front of then #10 Ernesto Fonseca, I would say it wasn't the gnarliest crash I have seen, but it was horrifing when the pack went by and he didn't bounce up and wave to the crowd. It was very apparent something was seriously wrong. I know his journey has been long and it will continue to be filled with challenges, but it is inspiring to see what James has done with his situation and how he is focused on helping other. Impressive.

Cavallara was the setting for the ‘motocross dei Campioni, 30 anni dopo’ this weekend, an event organised by 2009 MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi to raise funds for a children’s hospital in the Italian city of Pesaro – close to Rossi’s hometown of Tavullia – which treats leukaemia sufferers.
The event was a great success with over 10,000 people turning up to support the 30 year-old’s efforts, as a host of his on-track rivals also gave their time to the cause.
Andrea Dovizioso was the eventual winner, triumphing after three races provided plenty of excitement. The Repsol Honda rider was second in the first two races behind 125cc World Champion Julián Simón, but won the third ahead of Marco Melandri and Rossi to take the overall victory. Simón’s early departure to catch a flight meant the Spaniard was unable to participate in the final race, as Rossi finished second overall.
Declaring the day a great success, victor Dovizioso said, “I’d like to thank all the fans who turned out today and contributed to raising funds. We’ve had a great day, the conditions were perfect and I enjoyed it very much. I’m also happy to have won, even though Simón could not take part in the last race!”
Other luminaries to take part included Rossi’s fellow Italians Loris Capirossi, Marco Simoncelli and Mattia Pasini, as well as former 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz.

Team Entity Motorsports - MB1/TokyoMods - DeCal works - announced today that Ezra Lusk is 100% ready for the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open this weekend and that the good people at the AMA have graciously decided he can run his lucky number 11 for the race.

Ezra has been training like a mad man, he's cycling, training in the gym, running, and practicing on the bike for at least 4-6 hrs a day. His endurance is phenomenal and he is in the best shape of his life. He has really taken to heart all of the response from fans regarding his return to racing. "It’s amazing" said Lusk," I have always been amazed and inspired by the fans, but I never expected this coming back, It’s like I have more fans now than I ever, and I am very thankful for that"

With only a couple of days left before the race, Ezra is still the wild card of the event, no one really knows except him how fast he is, and at this point it’s really only himself he's competing against when he gets on that start line everything else will fade away and it will be just him and the machine. "We feel he's ready, he feels he's ready, now it’s go time" says Chad Ottenbreit of Entity Motorsports.

"Ezra has been laying down some really fast lap times and we have the bike completely dialed in", Says Ron Wood of Tokyo Mods. I can’t tell you exactly what we've done to the bike but I will say it’s fast and Ezra is faster on it."

"Ron can make it go fast but Ezra's got to be able to ride it and Factory Showa Suspension is ready for anything; Showa really hooked us up for the open", according to MB1’s Mike Batista.

So many people and companies have come together to support Ezra's return, that it seems like destiny is shining once again on Ezra as he packs up his gear and heads to Las Vegas, " I feel good, I feel fast, and I want to show all the folks who have helped me get back and especially the fans I am here and I am ready to race!" said Lusk Tuesday from his Georgia home.

"I’d have to say he's faster than he's ever been" Says Jamie Allen of Relentless Media. "It’s not often in life that someone gets a second chance, If anyone can do this its Ezra. He has more determination than anyone I know and if he wants it bad enough, which I think he does, I don't see why he can’t get inside the top 5 or even knock on wood, a podium." Allen added.

"Where we go from here is completely up to Ezra now, as a team we have built him a fast bike, dialed in the suspension, and got him to the race at the MGM. We've done our part, now show time for EZRA. If all goes well this race will be just the beginning of a new career, next it’s on to supercross and maybe outdoors depending on commitment from sponsors" said Chad Ottenbreit .

Lusk to Race US Open in Vegas aboard his MB1 Suspension Suzuki

AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports announced today that former 1994 Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class champion Ezra Lusk will come out of retirement to compete at the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open inside Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena October 9-11.

Lusk, who retired in 2004 following the Washougal AMA Motocross National, has 12 AMA Supercross class wins and seven AMA Supercross Lites class wins. Riding a MB1/Tokyo Mods Suzuki, Lusk returns to the track very optimistic.

“I am not sure what to expect at this race,” said Lusk. “I never stopped riding, just racing, so I have had plenty of seat time and excellent training. This is a great opportunity for me to showcase what I have. It’s going to be tough just making it to the main event, but this is a unique race. History shows that the fastest guy doesn’t always win the overall.”

After retiring from professional racing, Lusk fueled his competitive edge on the amateur tennis circuit in Georgia and Florida, returning to a game he grew up playing. The same can be said about his return to racing.

“Going back to playing tennis was a natural transition because I played so much when I was younger. I hope the same holds true at this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open.”

Lusk joins defending Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open champion James Stewart, former Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open champion Chad Reed and former Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open runner-up Kevin Windham at this year’s race.

If you haven't seen it yet here it is.... Yamaha takes it stable of riders from JS7 to Vale46, to Erin Bates (mx broadcaster on Speed) and make a quirky viral type ad. All video, all real people except maybe the nerdy guy. It's job is to create a buzz for the upcoming bike release on September 8th, 2009. I like that they are doing advertising, but a little misguided in the execution. But here I am doing my part to make it viral so spread the word. Yamah YZ450F coming Sept. 8th, pass it on.

2009 Lucas Oil Motocross Championship-Millville, MN Race Report

After a weekend off the Motocross series headed to Millville, Minnesota for Round 7 of the Lucas Oil Series.

In the 450 class MB1 Rider, Antonio Balbi came into the moto with a 12th place overall time for the day which gave him 12th gate pick. Anotonio finished up Moto 1 with a 15th place finish. In the 2nd moto, Antonio finshed up with a 17th place finish giving him 17th overall for the day. Also in the 450 class, Jacob Marsack went 40 -22 for a 33rd overall finish.

In the 250 Class MB1 Rider, Ben Evans came into the moto with 1 17th overall time giving him a 17th gate pick. Ben went 11-15 for the day for a 13th overall finish.

The riders now head into Washougal, WA for the 8th round of the Lucas Oil Championship this weekend.

Silly Season 450 Class Predictions Who will win the game of too few $$ and too few Rides

Even though we are halfway through the mx season and it is super exciting. My new internet bred attention span is looking towards 2010 and the riders/team combos for the new season. With all the doom and gloom of the economy, and the slowed motorcycles sales, how much money will be available next year and how many fewer rides will be up for grabs I just wanted to commit my predictions to paper. Will my own prognostication, with some tweeting with mxinsiders way more inside than I, and the new Racerhead #28, I felt I could confidently provide my predictions. When silly season unfolds and all the racers have sign contracts it will be fun to look back and see how accurate I was. Lets start with the factories...

Davi Milsaps (has add't year on his contract) hmm I think people has eluded to Davi being released by Honda or amicable split? This is a total rumor, I may even be making it up, but the only reason to hypothesize on this is Davi's sub par results, with his outspokenness of his troubles with the 2009 450, to small of a chassis for his xlarge size. Maybe it is a good time for Davi to find a new team and breath new life into his career the guy has tons o' talent.

Fuel Injection
Derived from the pacesetting RM-Z450’s superlative system, the RM-Z250’s battery-less injection features a 43mm throttle body with progressive throttle linkage, a 16-bit computer and unique capacitor-assisted starting system. A durable, lightweight magneto-generator powers the fuel injection after starting. Because all engine systems are related in performance, a new muffler is fitted to optimize the benefits of fuel injection.

Chassis Updates
In the search for handling perfection, the RM-Z250’s twin-spar aluminum alloy frame has been redesigned with several key components to optimize rigidity balance and improve traction at high speed. The lower frame tube has thicker walls, 3.0mm versus 2.5mm, while the side rails are slightly shallower. Connecting the 19-inch rear wheel and the lightweight chassis is a new swingarm with an improved center brace for increased rigidity that also more concentrates its mass for enhanced suspension action and greater traction. To prove that Suzuki understands the importance of details, new footrest brackets are designed to prevent mud clogging.

High-Performance Suspension, Updated
Thoroughly revised spring and damping rates inside the inverted Showa 47mm fork and piggyback single shock result in improved handling for a wide range of riders. Carefully chosen modifications improve traction and rider confidence at high speed without sacrificing the RM-Z’s legendary quick-turning ability. Modifications to the rear suspension linkage that reduce thrust backlash also improve traction and make for more consistent performance.

Color Coded
For 2010, the RM-Z250’s number plates have a black background to conform to rules for competition numbers. It’s one less thing to worry about so racers can concentrate on winning.

Features
Fuel Injection
Suzuki pioneered fuel injection for motocrossers, and the RMX450Z shares all key technologies with the stunning RM-Z450. Fuel injection improves fuel efficiency, throttle response and reduces emissions, allowing the RMX450Z to be “green sticker” eligible in the state of California. On every trail in the world, the RMX450Z’s fuel injection provides unmatched smoothness of power delivery and trail-ready reliability thanks to a KEIHIN throttle body with progressive linkage. This advanced fuel injection system also eliminates the need for re-jetting at higher elevations. To best suit the RMX450Z to life on the trail, the airbox features a hinged lid for quick air-filter maintenance and better protection from dust. Suzuki’s vast experience with motorcycle fuel injection both on and off-road help make this among the best systems available.

Electric Start
The trail is no place to wear yourself out kick-starting a bike, so the RMX450Z comes with an electric starter, energized by a compact battery centrally located to reduce its influence on weight distribution and balance of the bike. To charge the battery and power the RMX450Z’s lights, a larger magneto-generator is fitted. It’s a win-win situation.

Engine & Transmission
Suzuki has made minimal modifications to the all-conquering RM-Z450’s potent four-valve, DOHC engine for the RMX450Z. This lightweight engine now features a modified inlet tract along with revised cam profiles to increase low and mid-rpm power. Wider gear ratios in the 5-speed constant-mesh transmission that work with revised primary and final-drive ratios are ideally suited for a broad range of conditions, from scaling steep trails to high-speed open-terrain riding.

A durable, ultra-compact enclosure houses a full-function instrument cluster on the RMX450Z—and can be configured for two modes, standard and sport. The sport mode simplifies the display so the rider can concentrate on terrain; it shows the timer, tripmeter, average speed and tire-diameter correction. In the standard mode, the display also shows speed, time, two trip lengths, and voltage. An integrated tire diameter calculator allows precise fine tuning for different tires to ensure accuracy of the speed and distance displays. The RMX450Z also features a low fuel level warning light for confident off-road riding anywhere you go.

A website called Racerxonline .com does a feature called "Your Collection" and the one this week features what looks to be a very accurate replica of Doug Henry's bike or it is actually Doug Henry's bike. Would love to know the story of how he obtained it. Looks like it actually has "works" forks and clamps, pretty cool piece of memorabilia.

Better Than "A" Kit Suspension?

Fox Racing Shox made a name for itself by making high-quality suspension components – brothers Geoff and Bob Fox were even just recently inducted into the MC Hall of Fame for their pioneering work in off-road suspension. And the latest from Fox Racing Shox is the new Podium RC3 that is crammed with features. To start off, it has a proprietary Bottom-Out Control (B.O.C.) to change the end of travel damping without affecting the first three-fourths of travel. The B.O.C is position sensitive and only affects the compression damping during bottom-out events, such as steep-jump faces and aggressive whoops. The goal of the B.O.C is to run as little bottom-out-control damping as possible, without Fox Racing's Fast Adjust Spring Technology (F.A.S.T.) device on the RC3 is makes preload adjustment easy to do. Fox Racing says its Podium RC3 is completely rebuildable and comes with a one-year factory limited warranty, plus a 90-day valving guarantee. Frame modifications are not necessary for installation, and the shock will fit 250/450cc Hondas, Kawasakis, Suzukis and Yamahas.

America Never Gets the Cool Bikes!

I know we are a different demographic and have different needs to Europeans. But why are all the bikes that we (USA consumers) get 600cc. 750cc, 1000cc. I don't get it. I live in a city, I commute, I would love to put on my Dainese leathers and AGV helmet in support of the #46 and ride my 125cc race replica around LA or my local track like Willow Springs. I am an experienced offroad motorcyclist and an inexperienced roadie so why not cut my teeth on a light, easy to ride, cool looking bike. Get a clue USA motorcycle divisions (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, & Kawasaki), look toward the younger and more inexperienced markets, get new riders concerned about fuel costs, traffic in metropolitan areas, and looking for entry level motorcycles other than scooters.
